ลักษณะทางพฤกษศาสตร์

ต้น สูง ๕ - ๒๕ เมตร เปลือกชั้นนอกสีขำวนวล เป็นแผ่นบำง ๆ เรียงซ้อนกันเป็นปึกหนำนุ่ม
เปลือกชั้นในบำง สีน�้ำตำล ยอดอ่อน กิ่งอ่อน และใบอ่อน มีขนสีขำวเป็นมันคล้ำยเส้นไหม ใบ เป็นใบเดี่ยว
เรียงสลับ แผ่นใบรูปหอก กว้ำง ๑.๕ - ๔ เซนติเมตร ยำว ๕ - ๑๐ เซนติเมตร ปลำยใบและโคนใบแหลม
ดอกขนำดเล็ก ออกเป็นช่อที่ปลำยกิ่งสีขำว กลีบเลี้ยงยำว ๐.๓ เซนติเมตร โคนกลีบติดกันกลีบ
ดอกยำว ๐.๒ - ๐.๓ เซนติเมตร รูปช้อนแกมรูปไข่กลับ เกสรเพศผู้จ�ำนวนมำกยำวพ้นกลีบดอกเป็นพู่
ผล เป็นผลแห้งแตก รูปถ้วย กว้ำงและยำวประมำณ ๐.๔ เซนติเมตร เนื้อไม้ ใช้ท�ำเสำเข็ม เสำรั้ว

Botanical characteristics
The height of the tree is 5 - 25 meters. The outer bark is off - white in thin
sheet overlapping in a thick, soft layer. The inner bark is thin and brown. The young
shoot, young branches and young leaves have glossy white hairs. The leaves are
single leaves, arranged in alternate pattern. The leaf blade is in a spear shape with
the width of 1.5 - 4 centimeters and the length of 5 - 10 centimeters. The tip and the base of the leaves are pointed. The flowers are small and
white growing in a bunch at the end of the branch. The sepals are 0.3 centimeters long. the base of the petals is attached to the petals with the
length of 0.2 - 0.3 centimeters in a spoon and oval shape. The stamens extend beyond the petals. The fruit is a dry, cracked, cup-shaped fruit with
the width and length about 0.4 centimeters. The wood is used as piles, fence posts, house construction and charcoal. The bark is used for roofing
and temporary walls. It is also used to wrap a tinder for making fire. The leaves are extracted to make essential oils.
