                     The Department of Cultural Promotion, the Ministry of Culture has organized the project on the 3  Trees of Siam: Treasures
            of the Land project. The project aims to gather the data on large and important trees in Thailand, providing the data for searching and
            publicizing and promoting cultural tourist destinations. In addition, it encourages children, the youth and the public to recognize the
            importance of trees and participate the conservation, rehibition and preservation of trees and provides additional support for the natural
            environment. The Department of Cultural Promotion obtained the cooperation from the provincial cultural officers, the provincial
            cultural councils, the non-government organizations, the government agencies and the public to take part in gathering the data

            on trees and propose it for the selection. The proposed trees which meet the criteria shall be perennial trees and long exist or
            have any of the following qualifications.
                       1)  To be historical significance as well as important to the community or having the story telling with.

                       2)  To be in prominently cultural locations or important places.
                       3)  To be rare or nearly endangers or auspicious or bestowed trees.
                       4)  To be in proper environment with good care.
                       5)  Others as considered by the qualified committee.
                     Good cooperation was given by the government agencies and the public. The Department of Cultural Promotion appointed

            the qualified committee and project advisories to select of the proposed trees. Finally, the 88 trees are declared as the 3  “Trees

            of Siam: Treasures of the Land” Project  (the details are in the Department of Cultural Promotion announcement on the selection
            results of the “Trees of Siam: Treasures of the Land” for the fiscal year B.E. 2562 dated on April 11, 2019).

                     Upon the selection process of the 3  “Trees of Siam: Treasures of the Land”, the qualified committee remarked as follows.
                       1.  Many of very perennial trees were proposed for the first time in this year. This shows that there are plenty of
            perennial plants growing in the forest.
                       2.  The cluster of trees have been selected from many parts of country, this show that Thailand still has abundant
            of natural resources. Also,  people still awere of conservation of the perennial plants in thair areas.

                       3.  The interestingly rare trees were considered, considering as a part of conservation for the world.

                     In this regard, the Department of Cultural Promotion, the Ministry of Culture has published the 3  “Trees of Siam:
            Treasures of the Land” to publicize the stories of the perennial plants or the valued trees in response to the beliefs and the pride

            of the communities towards such trees.
                     The Department of Cultural Promotion hopes that this book will promote the conservation of natural resources throughout
            the country, as well as the learning of Culture and botany which will be beneficial to educational institutions at all levels and
            having a positive effect on tourism in the country.
