1.4 Organizations/ organizers are requested to conduct Songkran tradition activities
in accordance with measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to refrain from drinking
alcohol in public places in accordance with the Alcohol Control Act B.E. 2551.
1.5 Any other activities shall be at the discretion of the Provincial Communicable
Disease Committee or the Bangkok Communicable Disease Committee.
2) The campaign of โ€Thai Culture Inheritanceโ€ consists of the following.
2.1 Provinces are promoted to use the space for religious and cultural events in
Songkran tradition to inherit the tradition in a good and appropriate manner.
2.2 People are asked for the inheritance of values, essence and deeds of Songkran
tradition, such as cleaning houses, temples, and public places; making merit and offering alms
to monks; practicing Dharma; listening to the sermons; pouring water on Buddha images; and
praying for the elderly.
2.3 People are encouraged to wear a polite dress, Thai fabrics, local fabrics, or traditional
Thai costumes to participate in various activities.
2.4 Various organizations are requested for cooperation to support local artists in
organizing cultural activities, plays, and performances that follow local customs, in accordance
with the criteria and guidelines for the implementation of measures of the Coronavirus
Disease Situation Management Center 2019 (FPO) and the Provincial Communicable Disease
Committee / BMA. This is to transfer cultural heritage, and to allow children, youth, the general
public to mutually inherit the tradition in consideration of proper culture and carry out cultural
surveillance.
