Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1. To study the history of the tradition of
raising the spirits of Grandfather Sergeant Ka Tao of the Phu Tai Ramarat community,
Tambon Ramrat, Tha Uthen District. Nakhon Phanom Province 2. To study the practices
of the grandfather- Pu Ta Ja Katao Ghost Raising tradition of the Phu Tai Ramrat community,
Ram Rat Sub-district, Uthen District, Nakhon Phanom Province. 3. To study the Practice
Guidelines of the Tradition of Pu Ta Ja Katao Ghost Raising. Qualitative methodology
was applied by using the interview guides for the key informants of the target groups
for this research were Tao Jam or Kuan Jam, community leaders, and people in Ram
Rat Villagers, Ram Rat Subdistrict, Tha Uthen District. Nakhon Phanom Province.
The results of the research revealed that 1. the ancestors of the Ram Rat
villagers were the Laotian, Phu Tai tribe. The original settlement was in the city of
Chiang Hom. Kingdom of Vientiane Lan Xang. 2. The arrangement of the ghost-raising
ceremony of the Phu Tai Ramarat people Local communities have continually
preserved and inherited such traditions from the past to the present. The belief of
people in the Ban Ramraj community will not cut trees in Don Pu Ta during the time
that cutting is prohibited. can be cut when raising grandparents, i.e. every 3 years,
and big trees can be cut only when that wood is used for public or public use, And
3. The practices of the tradition of raising spirits of Pu Ta Cha Ka Tao of the Phu Tai
Ram Racha community. Contains preparatory rituals ritual and after the ritual which
is a tradition and ritual that has been practiced until now. The set rules the animal
that will be brought to worship the ancestors must be a buffalo that looks good. After
the ceremony, the villagers will share the buffalo meat and bring the buffalo meat to
the village area where it can be cooked in the fields. rice field alone. For this reason,
it can be believed that the Phu Tai Ramarat people still have interesting beliefs and
traditions that have been passed down.
