History/Interesting story

In the past, Khanoom Puk Rak had only ๏ฌsh ๏ฌlling and consumed with
sticky rice. It could not be kept that long because the sticky rice became spoiled.
Therefore, the ๏ฌlling has been processed as a dessert. It is wrapped in spring rolls
to be consumed as a snack. The ๏ฌsh ๏ฌlling can stay fresh up to 3-4 months in the
refrigerator. Villagers make the dessert during the mackerel season because it can
be consumed for a long period of time, and it also generates income for people
in the community. This becomes a way of life and the culture of the people in
the community. As Khanoom Puk Rak became popular, it inspired women in Moo
2 in Jae Bilang Subdistrict to learn how to make Khanoom Puk Rak. With the basics
in making almost all kinds of traditional desserts, they gathered to make Khanoom
Puk Rak as an OTOP product of Jae Bilang Subdistrict.

Uniqueness

Wrapping and tying the dough sheet into a bow shape is โ€œKhanoom Puk Rakโ€- a crunchy
snack with ๏ฌsh ๏ฌlling that tastes like well-known ๏ฌsh ๏ฌllet cake. A special eye-catching look is a
โ€œwrapping styleโ€ that the dough sheet is tied with a โ€œbow shapeโ€. It requires expertise skill and intention as if using
love to gradually tie the dough sheet. If not, it is probably torn or not tied tightly and can be a shape that is not beautiful when fried.
โ€œKhanoom Puk Rakโ€is a popular souvenir brought to special persons because it represents the love from the givers to the receivers.
In addition, it is an auspicious dessert in several festivals such as Hari Raya Day, Day of love and special occasions
