โ€Tools and Equipment of the Pastโ€
Wat Sumnak Khun-Nen is a learning centre that promotes moral and ethics. It is an open-space
temple, a Thai courtyard where classes in Buddhism are held on Sundays (prototype). It is a learning
centre for the people of Tambon Sumnak Khun-Nen and Amphur Dong-Charoen. It is a local museum
learning centre, a place where the districtโ€s religious, art and cultural events take place. The activities to
preserve and to relay the local culture and traditions are organised to create harmony among the people
in the community.
The Narration
It is a centre displaying works in art, culture and the ancestorsโ€ tools and equipment like
earthenware, sugarcane chests, rice-milling machines and ancient jars for instance. Moreover, it is a cultural
heritage centre, a research centre for information on history, culture, wisdom and tourism.
The Moral Value - the Owner of the Culture
There is a potential development at the cultural learning centre, preservation and continuation of
the community learning centre, to be developed into a cultural tourist attraction, persuading the society
to go back to the good way of life, to be proud of their wisdom, music and performing arts.
